Since 1990 Northwest Michigan House of Hope has been a place a refuge for troubled teens. Miraculous things happen here. Every day we see respect for authority, love of living and scholarly ambitions return to our teens. For difficult, rebellious teens and their families, House of Hope offers healing and restoration.

Dad was never around and when he was, it seemed there was always arguments. By age 10 my parents divorced. I started stealing and doing other things that weren't good for me.

When I was 12, my Mom died in a car accident. From then on, my life started going downhill. I got into drugs and alcohol to cover my pain but that only made it worse. I became anorexic thinking that being skinny would make me happy. But all it did was make me more depressed. I became suicidal, and one night, I tried to take my life. Thanks to God, I woke up in the morning.

Then I came to House of Hope. My life has changed drastically. God has freed me from my anorexia, my addictions and my depression. And He has restored my family. My Dad and I get along great! Our relationship has been restored. He has remarried and his new wife recently adopted me. On December 28, we are being baptized as a family. God has brought us back together and is changing lives-not just mine but my family's, too.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" -2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

for parents

Since 1990 NORTHWEST MICHIGAN HOUSE OF HOPE ("HOUSE OF HOPE") has provided a home and boarding school for teenaged boys and girls.

Since then we have seen teens come in to us as rebellious, angry and hurt individuals. Through care, prayer, directed studies and encouragement, our teens become more productive, studious and caring young people. When graduation day comes, students and parents rejoice together in the great and mighty work done in each individual life.
